Duties include: 

Assistance with orientation and training of crew upon arrival.

Direct planning of pruning priorities with an Owner. This would in time evolve to be primarily the responsibility of the Field Operations Manager, with feedback from ownership on a more limited basis.

Providing direction to the crew for planting tasks – as organized by an Owner.

Oversight and training of crew on proper pruning techniques and tree training on high density orchard systems in Spring and Summer to ensure their development.

Oversight and training of crew on proper pruning techniques and tree training in free standing orchard systems in Spring and Summer to ensure their development.

Direction and organization of harvest operations for all cultivars as it relates to the crew. This includes getting empty totes, picking containers, vehicles and forklifts assigned to the right members of the crew at the beginning of the day and throughout as needed. 

Upholding performance standards as outlined by the Owner in relation to the crew on a daily basis and taking the three-step disciplinary process if needed with any direct reports.

Equipment operation – this includes assisting with spraying of the orchard, forklift driving for harvest.

Requirements:  2 years verifiable experience in commercial agriculture with a focus in tree fruit cultivars. Experience must include both hand tasks, and equipment operation at some level. 1 year verifiable experience in management. High school diploma or equivalent.
